Matt Myzak
Managing Partner and Co-Founder
Matt is responsible for strategic direction, investments and fundraising. He brings two decades of real estate experience encompassing transactions in excess of $20 billion.
Prior to co-founding Enliven, Matt led investments at one of the fastest growing multifamily developers in the San Francisco Bay Area, Maximus Real Estate Partners. Matt was responsible for acquisitions and financings totaling more than $5 billion across a dozen properties, including multiple transactions with complex structured partnership buyouts and federal and local tax considerations. Under his guidance, Maximus grew from a startup with three properties and approximately 10 employees to a large enterprise with a dozen properties and more than 200 employees, with business lines in multifamily investments, asset management, property management, construction management, entitlements, general contracting and managed service labor. Maximus was known for revitalizing communities that had long endured neglect and for bold placemaking.
In past years, Matt held positions in private equity at Rockpoint Group and Morgan Stanley, where he acquired multifamily, office, hotel, industrial and land properties in the western US. As a Vice President at Rockpoint Group, he participated in acquisitions and dispositions as well as asset management. He was instrumental in executing over a dozen investments, including six multifamily projects. At Morgan Stanley, he was a part of the merchant bank’s opportunistic and core real estate investments team, where he participated in approximately $5bn of transactions ranging from REIT leveraged buyouts to single asset apartment acquisitions.
He began his career in the real estate investment banking group at Bank of America, where he primarily focused on REIT mergers and acquisitions, including work on over $10 billion of public market M&A transactions.
Matt received a BA in Economics from Claremont McKenna College, with a minor in Computer Science. He is passionate about scuba diving, snowboarding and meditation.
